Basically, this was the first contact between Kay and Richard (who would become Kiara years later), in their school days. I just don't know how to explain the background of that, but Richard was having a very bad day until Kay accidentally hit him with a ball (which I think would explain the fox's sad face). And, well, what is better to brighten a rough day than a bit of kindness? :)
