Dragonkin

The rarely sighted Dragonkin, Trueblood Dragons or Fullblood Dragons, are both revered and feared by many races and cultures. With a high natural affinity for various forms of magic, they’re sometimes spotted on the far borders of the known lands and rarely have much involvement in the affairs of humanoids. This is thought to be due to the large amount of conflict and fighting between various kingdoms that were sparked in the past as many of the leaders fought one another in attempts to win the favour of the dragons, seemingly only to the annoyance of the dragons involved. In current times, the few true dragons spotted are typically not seen for any length of time as they seem to prefer the unexplored and vast wilderness outside the borders of the explored lands.

Due to their reclusive nature, not much is know about the dragons, but due to their varying sizes and appearance, it is assumed that the species is built up on a number of different sub-species. Folktale and hearsay often suggest that Dragonkin may hold a connection to the Fae, but this has never been confirmed.

Contrary to some beliefs, Beastkin “dragons” are not directly related to true dragons, as they originate from humans just like other Beastkin. They do however seem better at spotting true dragonkin, and the dragonkin do not seem as bothered by them as they appear to be by other humanoids.
