The herald brought me to the palace throne room at the crack of dawn, still rubbing the sleep from my eyes as I stepped into the expansive space. The expansive room was lined with tapestries and figures of extravagent design, perhaps detailing ages past, the stories I could only guess at. I was an outsider to this land, the curious moogles having always caught my interest, and my own curiousity led me to the kingdom's seat of power.
As I turned to ask what was going on, the herald suddenly stood straight at attention, and as my eyes adjusted to the growing morning light I saw the red carpet bisecting the room, a row of moogle attendants along either side. At the end stood an ornate throne, a crowned figure rising from the seat. Watching in awe, each moogle's head bowed as he strode past, pompoms glowing in recognition and adoration.
I marveled at his size; he was built on a massive scale from the other mogs, his toned body stalked across the throne room with a powerful grace, the ease and subtle purpose in each step told me plainly enough that I stood in the prescence of their ruler. Their king.
A commission for SolidScale, who was kind enough to let me do basically whatever I wanted to for this idea! It was a lot of fun, and I've not had the chance to actually finish a piece in a long while now. Here's his moogle, Ludash, as the benevolent ruler of a kingdom of moogles, and I did a little vignette from the perspective of visitor to that land.
I'm out of practice with both writing and drawing, lol. Time to get back into it!
