For those who expressed interest in the past or who were wondering how I learned to draw.

The stick sketch is good for practicing poses and whatnot. The circles and ellipses method is more useful for forming the basis of more detailed drawings. It provides a reasonable framework for more detail to be added, as shown in the two step process underneath.

After my details are finished, I do a finished solid outline.

For digital artwork, the layer feature makes this easy. For pencil or other traditional artwork, I recommend using a 5H grade pencil for the groundwork, it's faint enough to be easily erased or covered by more solid linework with H or above grade pencils, or inks or whichever medium you use.
