"Her special talent is making trees grow during spring." That being the case she logically is on the plant team for Winter Wrap Up. Here she is helping this old tree wake up from it's winter slumber.

DANGGGG. This took a lot longer than expected. My first attempt was icky so I scrapped that. For this picture I started out using SUMO paint for it's curved line tool. I quickly remembered why I don't use SUMO paint anymore. As soon as I got over 2 layers it started acting all buggy. I managed to get the tree saved at least but proceeding saves crashed the program. I brought this over as a pdf to GIMP & worked on it some more with it there. I tried to play with the PATH tool I think it's called which is apparently similar to the curved line tool. I couldn't get the thing to work. Anyway it was hard getting crisp non-pixelly lines. I ended up using the calligraphy pen a lot to get the lines the I needed. At the end of the drawing I need to add the bow, lines on the back, ear & hooves & hair accessories. I was feed up with the lack of crisp lines in GIMP & very carefully used SUMO paint again. I kept my layers to a minimum & saved a lot. I think it was worth it but I wouldn't have been able to do that to make the whole picture.

When I exported her I gave her this green leg warmers from the program because well Light Spring has green things on her lower legs. Only after I started working on her did I realize that was a bad move. They looked nothing like her actual legs. I had to edit them something horrible to get them to look like they currently do. So note to people who use this program don't add accessories to your pony with this program unless you're sure they are how you want them.

  anniekitty just had a commission from   lodidah & I know   lodidah. Small world. Anyway last time I talked with   lodidah she told me she don't like to use black. Since   anniekitty commissioned her I figured she must not mind that style choice. I opted not to use black in this except I kept the the black of the eye from the pony creator. If you look at official MLP art they don't tend to use black unless it's the eye. I love how it came out. I know Light Spring's reference sheet has black lines on it but I used the color picker to get dark shades from the picture to substitute for the black.

I used the color picker to get the colors for it & drew with the background in mind. I used the calligraphy tool to get the clouds & grass blades. Over all for my first scene background to have drawn on FA I'm very happy with it.

My signature is on the bottom right side & it is itty bitty. FA reduces the size for large images I think so I'm not sure if I can be seen. I made this image 3320 X 2600 pixels & if anyone wants that size of this let me know & I'll post it else where.
