A sketch commission for GreyeWolf on DA of her wolf character Kite. She's been going through a tough time lately, so I wanted to draw something that would help her out emotionally.

Kite’s pawsteps leave water behind, symbolizing tears and how difficult it can feel to keep going when things are bad. But water is the bringer of life, just as hard times give way to good times. The lessons you learn in the bad times help make the good times that much better – you are a better person for the hardships you have suffered. Kite’s pawsteps are gradually blooming into Sanseveria – a hardy, difficult to kill plant representing resilience – and Bourage – a flower representing courage. Hard times require both of these qualities, and in fact, they are something you often learn only during the toughest times of your life.

Kite is carrying both plants with her on her journey, and the qualities they represent inspire her to keep her chin up and look to the future for the happier days that will most definitely come.
