The playoff balance swung back and further until the end, before a late goal wins it.

The first period in Hamilton started off with a bang, as Thunder Bay Defensemen Wingdog was able to get the Puffins on the board early. The Puffins would hold that lead through the rest of the first as the period for the most part continued on quietly.

In the second, the action would pick up, as teams scored back and fourth, as goals by Wanderers Bailey McTavish, and Tozan Southerpacks would put Hamilton firmly on the board. Paul Shepherd would score for the Puffins and the game would enter the third tied at two all.

In the third, the teams would go tit for tat agian, as Pheagle Adler and Bailey Mactavish would score for their respective teams and bring the teams to three. The game however would not make overtime, as Pheagle would score his second of the period and on the night, and the Puffins would win 4-3.

With the win, the playoff chances for Thunder Bay are in the stronger position, as they sit 1 point outside of playoff contention behind the Raleigh Ice Cats for 4th spot. For Hamilton, the loss leads to a much dire position, as with a single game left in the regular season, they can only make it in with a win and losses by both the Ice Cats and Puffins on Monday.
