The game started with a bit of roughness as within the first 8 minutes of the first, each team was down a man as Dashing Foxie and Remington Bucksaplenty were seen going to their respective locker rooms. After that though, the game settled down, Late in the first, Saskatoon opened the scoring with a breakaway goal by Tab Klowoski, and the Spirits answered with a goal by Teague Luxton. The Prairie Dogs were able to answer agian off the stick of Zyle Vaughn, and Saskatoon would hold a 1 goal lead entering into the second.

In the second, the teams shifting to offensive pushes, leading to some fire wagon hockey. Saskatoon quickly took advantage as two quick goals by PJ and Lance Foxy put them up by three. The Spirits early in the period with Luxton's second goal of the night, but as the time closed on the period, Lance scored agian and put the Prairie dogs back up by 3.

Much of the third continued the consistant dueling as both sides would have chances, but neither side was able to cash on them until near the end where at the 16th Minute, the Spirits were able to work two by Prairie Dog goalie Kita Icewuff, off the sticks of Zephyr and Chris Bartholomew closed the gap to 1. It was not enough though as the Prairie Dogs held strong, including killing a penalty in the closing minutes, and would win the game 5-4.
