Obsidia and Victoria don't always get along. They pick at each other all the time, playfully. But on occasion, it will hit one of them just right and they will fight. Claws and teeth fly, but ultimately one of them backs down and they apologize to each other.

Once, however, they fought harder than usual and it wasn't just tooth and claw flying. They screamed and shouted everything that the other would hate, stoking the animosity that was building between them. After several hours, Obsidia and Victoria were finally too exhausted to continue. Obsidia was bruised and bleeding and Victoria was literally in pieces.

Victoria silently dragged herself around, collecting her pieces and re-assembling herself while Obsidia's rapid regeneration got to work, putting her in a deep sleep. Victoria, once she'd reassembled herself, collected a basket of Obsidia's favorite snacks and left them next to her with a simple note that read, "I'm gone, don't look for me." And she left. Victoria flew off to the north, knowing Obsidia wouldn't look for her there if she didn't heed the note.

Obsidia woke, starving, cold, and alone, several hours later. She saw the note first, before she noticed the food. She was pissed, not at Victoria, but at herself. She knew Victoria hated being treated as if she is not alive. Yet... throughout their entire fight, she did nothing but taunt her by calling her "toy", "plaything", "doll", "inanimate object"... She said those hateful things in the heat of the moment, causing her best friend, lover, and partner to leave.

The days passed slowly, but life didn't pause for them. Obsidia continued to run her gang and Victoria found work in other cities as a spotter and observer. They didn't call each other, though they both would often look at their phones to see if the other had called or sent a message. The days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and months into a year. Neither of them sent a single message or call, despite their longing.

Some time later that year, while Obsidia was moments from hitting send on a message to Vicky, the animated bat doll came strolling in the door. They looked at each other, staring for a few moments before Vicky burst into tears and threw herself at Obsidia.

"I'm so sorry, Vicky. Welcome home." They embraced. They cried. They forgave each other, and made a promise to treat each other better.
