Oh, what terrible fate has granted you this vision? You thought a leisurely stroll by the creek would be nice on this hot summer day, but it seems as though you’ve got yourself caught. One might expect to see a wild creature running away in fear or, at worst, a desperate predator sizing you up. But you came prepared for that, didn’t you?

But who would have predicted this? The very plants at your feet rising up to snare you? Now dangling you before a maw twice the size of your body? This is ludicrous, you think. You’d heard rumors that there was a giant plant going around and taking people, but you never imagined they could be true.

Ludicrous. You think, as a final thought, the spines serving as teeth crunching down upon you.
