Dragon Horns & Sail by Feyala

Dragon Horns & Sail

Feyala

Here are some dragon "accessories" I recently sculpted and molded, along with a successful cast from my new dragon mold!

So far I have a head sail, cheek fin, and horns based on an impala, pronghorn and rhino (sorta). I'll be doing more as necessary, and I'd like to have a variety. I will be attaching these with a two-part epoxy clay to make the "sockets". The clay should be sturdy enough to withstand regular wear, but I'll still need to do some durability tests.

To give you an idea of how much more durable this plastic is than sculpey, the originals of all the horns were destroyed in the (relatively gentle) mold-making process. Sculpey simply can't stand up to very thin applications in my experience, I've found that it tends to have the tensile strength of a piece of dry sphagetti if stressed at all.

But hey, I can do stuff like this now! I love it when things go according to plan.
