It really was one of the best sensations Alex had ever felt, to be completely headless. Though he'd been modular his entire life, and rarely had his head attached, he'd never before thought to completely disconnect from it until Tabitha had suggested it to him. He'd never have imagined it would be this relaxing, to not have to worry about any sensory input but touch, not have to process vision or sound.
Suddenly, his hearing returned. As they'd agreed, Tabitha had taken his face off of his head and put it back on with just the ears so they could communicate.
"So, what do you think?"
Alex started to respond, then realized he didn't have a mouth and switched over to sign language. «Feels... amazing. Never would have thought to try it before.»
"Well, if you want to get rid of it for good, I might just buy it off you. I'd love to have your pretty face, you know." The cinccino chuckled. "I do know a good place to get you all fitted for permanent headlessness."
«You mean a telepathy module and all that switching sensory stuff?»
"Yeah, plus getting your brain repositioned."
«I might have to take you up on that offer. You pay for it, and you can have my face. Think I might keep the head, though. Then I can always get a backup face if I ever need to wear one.»
"Hmm... Sure, works for me. You get to keep the head and ears, and I'll take the face and pay for the headless kit."

A few hours later, Alex and Tabitha walked out of the local body store. «I don't know why you insisted on the brain relocation if I'm keeping the head anyway,» Alex signed.
"Oh, come on, you know I like your bust. Any excuse to make it bigger--like stuffing your brain into it--I'm definitely going to take it. And you /can/ use that new telepathy module, you know."
«It feels weird though! I'm more comfortable signing.» Alex prodded at his newly-enlarged bust with his lower pair of arms. «These feel weird too. Feels almost like I'm wearing a bra, but I'm not.»
"I know! That internal support thing they do is amazing."
«I really hope I don't end up changing my mind on this. Picking out a new face would be a huge hassle.»
Tabitha shrugged. "Just come to me if you want your old one back. I'll sell it back to you, no trouble. Give it a while, though. I think you'll come to love it!"
«Does it fit you well?»
"Yeah, I like it a lot. Feels a bit -- oh, turn here -- a bit weird hearing your voice come out of my mouth, though!"
«Not weird to me. My voice never really felt like mine. Maybe that's why I like this arrangement so much. It's not mine anymore, it's yours.»

The two walked in silence for a few minutes.

«You know, this does mean no more blowjobs for you,» Alex signed, giving a telepathic 'grin' of amusement. «At least, not from me.»
Tabitha grinned back. "Oh, I'll make do somehow, I'm sure."
