Family of Death - First sketch

FaunPrincess

The first sketch I ever did of my rustbloods together, and the first time designing the two older ones. They live in a mansion ON the graveyard because they are ridiculously sensitive to the paranormal, even for rustbloods. They constantly hear the screams and wails of those damned to walk the planet, but also the pleas of those who have unfinished wishes on the planet, pleading them to help fulfill their wishes and send messages to those still alive. It's a bit hard when some of them are from the other side of the planet though...

This is from an AU where all three incarnations of trolls are alive at the same time and are siblings raised by their lusii.

I started with Mortem (more-tem), and I've had him for over a year now. He's a sweet little thing, who's older than he actually looks, but he doesn't take it to heart when people comment about him looking young. He also is frequently misgendered, but he also doesn't mind that either, as long as they are being polite. He's always tired, as it's too loud for him to sleep more times than not, and he normally doesn't change out of his pajamas. To keep himself busy, he's constantly cleaning the mansion and taking care of upkeep in the cemetery.

The middle brother, Claude (clawed), is technically the eldest. He's in his 30's in human years, but still has the appearance of 18 (I'm not gonna try converting sweeps) because he killed himself on his wriggling day with a guillotine that is in the torture chamber in the basement. Mortem keeps it locked up, but a ghost doesn't need doors. He has a solemn air about him, and his voice is monotonous, though he still attempts to make jokes to lighten the mood for his brothers. More specifically: Mortem. He has a permanent wound on his neck from his farewell to the world, and often times it seeps even though ghosts don't need blood and he has a greyscale in comparison to his brothers. He likes to watch over his brother and keep troublemakers from the graveyard by scaring them away in a multitude of ways. Since he has no physical body any longer, he has the ability to take on the appearance and tone-age of those around him. He often scares ruffians away by lobbing his head at them.

The physically looking eldest brother is Varian (vare-ian). Constantly tired and fed up with most things, he is almost the exact opposite of Mortem. Where the youngster is drowsy sounding and easy get loving on someone his his tired state, Varian is constantly high strung and in a foul mood. He has very little patience with anything, and is constantly getting onto his baby brother to keep up his studies and forces him to dress. The mansion proved to be too detrimental to his health, so he and Claude moved to a small apartment in the city and only come to visit on occasions, seeing how Mortem has a much better grasp of his sanity. Claude went with him to make sure he didn't do anything rash like he, himself did. The oldest lowblood, unlike his baby brother as well, get's extremely riled up and bitchy if he is misgendered or called feminine. The only troll able to calm him down is Claude when he gets into a huge conniption fit and loses his cool almost entirely.

Well, I wrote a novel. ovo
