In late 2013 I was doing a particular detailed fur style, and eager to find others' art to try it out on as, at the time, I had a hard time getting myself to sketch things that were in any way for myself. I found that DarkNatasha had some lovely sketches in her gallery and wanted to try my hand, so I emailed her, and she said I was welcome to pick one provided it did not have anyone else's (other than hers) characters in it. I did (this one), and finished it shortly, and emailed it her for approval to post. She never got back to me, and, worried I'd offended her, I didn't try to contact her again for a long time. She's been very nice to me when we've run into each other at cons and such, though, so I finally figured just before FC 2017 that I'd try again. Turns out the original approval-email got missed! She liked the finished art and gave me permission to post it. So here it is!

It really was an immense treat to get to work with the lines of such a skilled artist. I feel this is the best of the paintings I did in that style - even though it was done years ago, I doubt I could top it now. I learned a lot about layering fluff from this (largely from following her sketch lines!) and picked up a bit of anatomy as well. It's still one of my favorite pieces!
