What's this? I actually got back to working on my xeno animals AMAZING I KNOW! I'm hoping to get a bunch done between now and January so I can move on to finishing up my character roster so by pretty early 2015 I can actually start on other things. We shall see!
Anyway the waniroc are a species of eel like fish found somewhat uncommonly on Waloe (home planet of the Wayok). They're relatively uninteresting, I mean they're predators that can unhinge their jaw kinda like snakes but otherwise... they're fish. What makes them interesting is the fact they look somewhat like eastern dragons which has brought them a lot of interest on the planet Earth. When Wayok came here to study the ocean they were given special permission from the UICA to bring some specimens of this species with them to give as gifts to humanity that was all "HOLY FRICK DRAGONS!". As a result they're one of the non sapient species most well known by humans as of the beginning of the story.

As far as behaviour goes they're a fast moving species that tends to shy away from contact. They seem to display intelligence at the level of about a turkey so not exactly the beacons of intellect. Interestingly much like some earth fish this species starts off life as a male but becomes female as they get over. There's really no visible physical change though, just different in mating patterns (obviously).
