Poor Numamai, it was the last planet that needed an introduced animal species. Anyway behold the Yarkreik! Despite its immediate appearance its actually not a cephalopod, Yarkreik are actually part of a unique animal class only found on their planet. They’re actually semi aquatic creatures with no spine but still an internal skeletal structure in the form of just a skull, they’re tentacles have no bony structure and use powerful muscles alone for movement. They have 7 of those (4 very long ones on their sides, 2 small ones in the front of their body and one on their head). They also have 3 eyes for whatever reason.

If you’re wondering their looks very much match their behaviour; Yarkreik are powerful predators that will hunt basically anything that crosses their path, ripping whatever it is apart with ease. Its not really surprising the Vishquinza being the resident sapient species became very aggressive and resourceful considering Yarkreik are basically found everywhere on the planet in decent numbers.

As far as the design goes I couldn’t hold back on fulfilling the alien trope of having a giant tentacle monster somewhere :B they fit well into numamai as a kinda swampy planet of pure death and wtf. Also as far as colour scheme goes I actually did a challenge using a randomly generated palette. I think it worked out well.
