Universe concept piece: Desergen by FamiliarAlien

Universe concept piece: Desergen

FamiliarAlien

Oh goodness this poor drawing was suppose to get done way in April =A=;. It kept getting side tracked by my health/other drawings.

Anyway finally one of the other planet pieces shows up. It probably won't be the only one related to this planet because there's no actual buildings in this image but its a start at least. I plan to use that logo in the upper right corner to distinguish planets really easily. You can even see a doodle of the planet on it in the middle. The drawing itself was fun to do even if tedious, definitely getting better at making characters stand out from the background itself. So to get into the piece itself:

Main Desergen is a planet slightly larger than earth, it has 4 small moons. It does have various environments like forests and such but it is mostly rocks and sand. Desergen has some smaller pink tinted oceans rather than blue like those of Earth much the sky of the planet itself.

Despite the harsher conditions many creatures have managed to thrive on this planet. Creatures similar to the marsupials of earth are abundant as are large arthropods and a unique class of animals that derived from mammals which niche is almost exclusively subterranean.

SPECIES OF DESERGEN INCLUDE:
Xenofolk

Xenobeasts

I really love how the geometric characters contrast with the round objects in the background.

Then there's an Eap; they tend to be very cute.

:D good I'm glad. I have been working on trying to figure out how to make characters stand out from the bg. I'm digging how this turned out so this may be the method I use for the comic itself when I start (at least for organic object backgrounds. it won't work as well for say a city).

Yes its scurrying away :o I'm glad you think they are cute!

You're very welcome. I wonder what kind of style could skyscrapers and other urban structures or objects use. Maybe the geometric one?

:o perhaps. I'm sure I'll figure it out when I have to do so.

Ooh this is really cool, it's great seeing a full scene from the Entirety world. I really like how you drew the scenery and plants here. Great job on the poses and colouring of the characters too!

It's also interesting to see a bunch of different species together to get an idea of size comparisons and so on. I hadn't realised molns were that big before!

Thank you for the lovely comment :D. Yeah the Moln are pretty big, heck Tarraeqa (the villain Moln I introduced quite a while back) is actually large for a member of their species so imagine how intimidating they're going to be when they're in a room with the rest of the main cast!

    finally your world comes together.
...who is that funny dressed human in the middle? kinda fun seeing the role-reversal, here the Deserge are comfortable and the Humans are awkward, lol!

That would be Natalie, one of my few human character. Yeah its kinda a funny contract from the holiday image I drew a couple of years back. In that image Natalie was nice and comfy and Dal was very out of his element, now its the other way around. Darwin is suffering a bit in both images sadly. I mean they can kinda deal with cold in small amounts but Desergen is far too dry for a species from a tropical rain forest. You can see them squish into Natalie's hood/shirt trying to avoid the sun.

ohhh, I see it now! I thought that was just lumpy clothing or something!
