Before I moved on to bigger pieces I wanted to go over something I really needed to address: Tenaliam's design being way too hard to draw. Unlike say the shlen which do have a complex design but don't show up that much in the story (Flugll being the only important shlen we encounter) Tenaliam show up considerably often being the second most common alien species in the story.

I had planned since I tweaked the design of Chi'Tsao and Wayok to go over the Tenaliam's design but waited because unlike those two which design was altered on an anatomy level Tenaliam have the same design just drawn differently than before.

Was I successful? Yeah honestly Tenaliam are way easier to draw now because I did this thing I call "comparative features" which basically comes down to some details line up in a very specific manner so its easier for my brain to imagine them on different angles. I can actually draw Tenaliam facing forward now without it taking 6000 years! Some small differences in the design is I got rid of the wrinkly skin between the nose and dome of their head, added more wrinkling areas of the skin to make it obvious they're mostly bald rather than have short flesh coloured fur or something.... and I stopped being a shitbaby and gave the males slightly more accurate anatomy down there. Entirety isn't for children so I'm treated my audience with a bit more respect in the fact they probably know what a penile sheath is and wouldn't think its their actual dick.

That aside I actually added a northern female to this to prevent the earlier confusion over if they existed or not, they're the same as males for fur right down to usually having facial fluff. I also added a faceshot realistic rendition of what they look like if only to show off the fact they are in fact based on bats. Some people think they're actually dog aliens when really only their paws are kinda dog like. Their ears being floppy is actually inspired somewhat on goats rather than dogs. Tenaliam are kinda a clusterfuck of various mammals.
