I've heard some great things about Moleskines and I've been wanting to get one for a while, so I picked up a Moleskine notebook from Chapters earlier today to practice my inking!
This is my first attempt at inking something with lots of detail and I think it turned out a lot better than I expected it to! I wanted to draw something motivational for the first pages of the Moleskine so whenever I flip to the first couple of pages, I'll see this c:
I chose one of my dragons, Scythe, as my subject because I don't draw him enough and I felt like drawing some skull, bones, and flowers. I picked very specific flowers for each part of the message:
I know, Cypress is a weird choice because it means something quite negative, but it suits Scythe's character very well; he has a lot of issues with life and often questions his existence, despairing over it. However, he does acknowledge that death can eventually be freeing for some, including himself.
Anyway I really enjoyed drawing this type of artwork, I'll definitely be doing more of it!
Scythe is (c) me!
