This is the second badge I made for Cosmik.
This uses the same medium and technique of multiple layers of cardstock cut and glued together with rubber cement and detailed this time with opaque markers and india ink with a brush pen.
I generally like how this turned out. And this one probably has more individual layers than any of the other badges I've done like this. (This being the sixth.) This time I tried to work within the limitations of my medium and methods and got a much better result with thicker and fewer details. The only details done with the opaque markers were the pink of the ear and the light blue of the glasses. The black lines detailing the ear, eye, glasses, and hands are all done with a marker instead of trying to cut them into and through several layers of the card stock.
The piece could have benefited from more changes of the xacto blade for sharper, cleaner edges. And the rubber cement gummed and pilled up everywhere, though I did my best to remove it.
Generally speaking, I'm pretty happy with the results.
