My Active neopet on Neopets. I drew this to enter him in the Neopet's Spotlight. A story will come probably tomorrow, as I have drawing work to complete.

Neopets and Kougras are not mine!

My dream had finally come true! A large grin was plastered on my face as I spent every last neopoint I had on a Transmogrification potion. Once the bottle was in my hands I quickly dashed home to use it. Nai_ikazuchi, my red kougra, had been begging to be painted or transformed into something spectacular, and now I had the potion to do it!

Upon arriving home I was met by a pair of large fuzzy kougra ears brushing up against my side.

"You're home early!" Nai_ikazuchi purred.

"That I am Nai! And look what I bought for you today!" I held up the bottle, the transmogrification potion swished around inside.

"REALLY? You got me a morphing potion?!" Nai's ears perked up and he grabbed the bottle from my hands. Within seconds the young Kougra had drank the potion down to the very last drop.

“Yes, well, it was a transmogrification potion actually, you silly Kougra.” Nai sat the bottle down and looked at his paws and tail excitedly. I don’t even think he heard me. “You didn’t even ask me what it would change you into!” I laughed.

Nai_Ikazuchi grinned. “It doesn’t matter! You bought a really cool one right? I can trust you!” He giggled as his body began to change. “It tickles!”
“Of course I got you a cool one Nai!” I watched as my neopet transformed from a red kougra to a brand new neopet.
“Is it done?!” Nai exclaimed. He ran into our neohome and bolted to the nearest mirror before I could reply. I, being much slower, caught up to him only to see his horrified face reflecting in the mirror he found.

“I’m ugly!” He murmured, He pulled and pinched at his face, turning from side to side to see the transmogrification effects.

“No no no no! Nai you’re not ugly!” I rested my hand on his shoulder to comfort him. In the mirror stood a dull green kougra with long thick fur and blue vein-like stripes. Nai tugged at one of his ears, no longer round and fuzzy but now pointy, and bat-like ad his once golden-yellow eyes had now turned a dark red. He had become a Mutant Kougra. We both turned our heads at the sound of footsteps down the hallway, it was Castiel the Biyako, Nai_ikazuchi’s petpet. Castiel scampered away when Nai turned to look at him.

“I’m a monster,” Nai whimpered, “I even scared Castiel away.” Nai’s eyes began to well up with tears, they streamed down his face as he began to speak. “I’m just a monster! I thought… I thought I was going to be beautiful, or magnificent. Like a Spotted Kougra or a Plushie Kougra… didn’t you say this was a morphing potion?” He looked at me questioningly.

“I said it was a transmogrification potion, not a morphing potion. But you were too excited to listen Nai.” I smiled. He frowned, looking in the mirror again. I sighed, poor thing. “You know, if you’re really that unhappy with it, I can always paint you red again, or buy you a different potion. But, I don’t really see why you would call yourself a monster. You look really cool! I mean, look at your claws! And you have such pretty blue stripes and really neat pointy ears!”

He lifted his paw up. His dark black claws were massive and sharp to the touch. “They really are cool,” sniff “aren’t they?” He looked to me with his watery tear filled eyes.

“Super cool! You look like a battle-ready neopet! You could scare off any opponent if you tried!”

He frowned a bit, making himself look angry. “Like this?” He giggled and smiled. “Sorry, making faces is funny!” He tried to make the angry face again.

“Yeah just like that! Terrifying! And just because you CAN be scary doesn’t mean you ARE scary. Its what is inside that counts! You are magnificent, inside and out, you’re very special! I bet all the plain colored kougras would be envious of you!”

He looked at himself in the mirror and began to make new faces, and he turned to me and laughed, wiping his tears away. “You’re right. I really am special, I don’t want to change back.” Nai hugged me, then with a surprised look he turned around to find Castiel playing with Nai’s tail.

“See? Castiel wasn’t afraid of what you looked like! He was only scared because he thought you were a stranger.” Nai_ikazuchi picked up Castiel and sat the petpet on his shoulder, smiling.

“Let’s go scare some neopets Castiel!” He exclaimed while running out the door. “Then we can go battle in the battledome!”
