Part three of the Yellowknife saga! Now we see another character introduced. Faced with the previous tragedies of mining for gold, and seeing some of his friends die in the struggle, he laments about his future in Yellowknife and wonders if he will survive.
Thanks for listening, guys and gals. More to come. :)
LYRICS:
I know I’ve been through Yellowknife once before
Its distant mountains call me back
To thoughts of peace that I once had
A glacier caught my eye the other day
I simply had to turn away
Reminded me of my dead friends
I feel, I clench
My heart goes numb
My eyes go blank
My mind turns dumb
I stutter, I doubt
Not sure of what it’s about
I suppose I’ll never know
What it’s all for
They say they needed me to find some gold
So I suppose I’ll humor them
It’s not like I’ve never dug before
But if I have to face these lands again
And answer to all these hunters’ yen
I must find my resolve to fight
I feel, I strain
I don’t feel right again
These mountains call to me
Anxiety
I kneel, I pause
Tell the world of my loss
I suppose I’ll always know
That I am gone
