Silent Approach by Eskiworks

Silent Approach

Eskiworks

Quiet slow steps on lush foliage, eyes wide and focused to take in the light of the prey, a feathered meal in waiting... A tale well known by anyone who knows cats. This saber-toothed feline takes advantage of a preening bird who feels a little too safe in the treetops of this primordial forest. Pay attention bird, your doom is just a few feet away!

This one is for Spottacus, of his saber-toothed cat, Toofs. Played with some fun new brushes on this one, and exactly zero texture/photographic elements this time!

    PSYCHO KITTY EYES :D

The work you did on this was just awesome to see, all that gorgeous environment detail, and different from your usual types of greenery with all those heavy branches and moss! Gorgeous lighting work as well, the slightly out-of-focus bird with its pretty & lit feathers adds a very nice touch to the color and lighting balance I think :3

Also it looks like that bird is looking at the viewer with a "I'm gonna getchu" look, while the cat has a "I'M GOING TO MURDER YOU LITTLE FEATHERY THING :D" look to him xD

Oh man - the moss on the trees came out really well! The leaves in the foreground along the top really add to it as well. Your ability to do back-lighting is tops.

OH! And background bird - I spotted it. You are awesome.

        Wait - I'm having a conniption and spamming you - THAT'S A PONY. (You're still awesome though.)

I like the sense of perspective of the tree limbs and hanging moss in the background.
