Commission for Tensei, of the male and female sides of their character Panonia. So that's one character, two aspects of the same character visualized. Had some fun with some new brushes from Tatchit on this one in a few spots!

Very clever use of the lighting to make an inverse of a central lighting focal point if that makes sense, where the shadows gravitate towards the center and the lights beam out and diagonally through space.

I especially love your takes on different hair lengths and low/high key refinements, the flow of it all is super nice and sells like a million bucks!

I'm pretty interested to know how you got around to weaving those ribbon-like light patterns with really crisp lines and soft shadows. Did you go in with a hard brush, then mask it for the shadow details?

Regardless, this is a lot of fun to look at. I'm very happy to have stumbled upon this on the front page!

      Aw, thank you so much!

For the ribbon-like patterns I have a brush that was meant to imitate a wide wet ink brush. The brush tip shape looks like a series of spots with varied sizes. I set the angle jitter to 0% set to pen pressure, and when I paint I get these rad swirlies as a base! Then I just use a normal round brush and eraser to clean it up and get the exact shapes I want in there.

I watched you here too, you've got some really awesome work!

Thank you so much for the elaborate explanation! It makes total sense how you would go about that. So you got the finer and thicker ribbons all in the same go, or at least the basic shape of it without any distancing because of the 0% jitter, and then fine tune by carving the exact shapes back and forth. I figured you would take the intricate time to do that, your works seem to have a super high polish to them that I hope to achieve with patience soon.

Aw no way! I wouldn't have imagined you would watch the likes of me and my silly doodles. I'm planning to break out of my comfort zone and get into some color and paintings. Really, thank you so much for the ego boost, that is way cool of you!

Ah Ive been considering downloading Tatchits pack lately but have been procrastinating because I -really- need to organize my brushes lol. They worth picking up?

P.S. I really love when you get commissions with swirly glowing things in them.

They really are worth it! She's got these great curly looking ones with "trim" that I really love, and her triangle brush is a fabulous replacement for the standard photoshop round brush.
