Pilgrim of Gyan by Elysianaut

Pilgrim of Gyan

Elysianaut

Gyan is home to a monastic order
of warrior monks, devoted to worship
of a child of the Lordking Orskeph.
His champion-prince, the Skyblood Orryn,
is referred to only in his abandonment
of his father and now is almost
lost to the annals of history.

Skyblood as a title is now affixed to those
of said to have starlight flow through
their veins, be they god or mortal.
The Gyan monks hold this to be true and
wager on the tantalising prospect that
such people may be descendants
of Orryn.

The Pilgrims of Gyan undertake a pilgrimage
to seek out the sites where the gods may
have once stood. Their holy rule prescribes
the wearing of a hooded grab and face
coverings. Such items are exchanged
if ever two pilgrimscross paths.

Their rule,
the preservation of one another's identity,
is a sign of trust, in hope of finding a prince
who does not want to be found.
