Feathers ARE hard, even when you have references (which I did).
Truth be told I lost track of time on this one… but it was at least two hours just to paint it. I think another 1.5 hours to sketch… and to think it started out as "just a quick watercolor…" X'D

Hehe, "just a quick..." quite often leads to an elaborate piece of art that takes a lot of time to finish. :D Nevertheless, around 4 hours are still pretty amazing and fast for a picture of this quality. Well done! ^^

The pattern looks gorgeous! I'm already happy if I manage to draw wings and feathers at all, especially with some (minor) markings. It must have been really hard to draw the feathers the way you did. How long did it take you to make this piece of art?
