Griswold took interest in a cat sitting by himself in writing class freshman year. He found the cat reading some of Kurt Vonnegut's work and writing notes in the margins.

"Did you get to the alien zoo part yet?" Griswold said as he sat down next to the lonely man.

"It's honestly the least interesting part of the book. I liked the slaughter house part better." The cat said as his snout only dug deeper into the book. Griswold cringed a little from remembering the death that followed that scene, but before he could comment on it the teacher hollered for the student's attention.

After class, the cat introduced himself as Soltar. they left campus to talk at a local coffee shop where they spent hours talking about different literary works. From an outside perspective, it seemed as though these two were going to start throwing fists at any moment. But to them, it was a mental battle that only filled them with more vigor to fight on about this author or that book. They hit it off rather well, and became dorm mates the following years.

After a couple of years, Griswolf dropped out of college and moved into an apartment with Soltar. Soltar still went to college and is working toward a degree in literature. Griswold was more content with working minimum wage jobs and writing poetry at the coffee shop. They still fight as passionately as they did on that first night, and they formed a bound through that passion that no one can break.

I just came up with this story, so sorry if it sounds like poop. I just thought I would expand on Griswold the space jackal a bit more. His friend Soltar is a self harming cat man whi is more concerned with books than sex, and Griswold respects him for that. I like these characters more and more every time I draw/write them.
