Dulcinea's Non-standard Character Design by EdnaWheeler1

Dulcinea's Non-standard Character Design

EdnaWheeler1

For some reason, Dulcinea in The Adventures of Puss in Boots has a cartoonier, more stylized character design than Puss and any other cat in the Shrek/Puss in Boots franchise. The other cats in the franchise appear more semi-realistic/realistic. Even El Guante Blanco, Puss' mentor in the same show, keeps the more realistic style that Puss has.

Also, Dulcinea appears more anthropomorphic and closer to human proportions than any other "normal" cat in the Shrek/Puss in Boots franchise, which, although they can walk on two legs, they have body shapes like the cats they are. She is also fully dressed in the way a human would be, whereas other "normal" cats would either wear accessories or not wear anything at all. Her eyes are cartoony and show a lot of the sclerae ("whites" of the eyes) whereas the other cats have eyes more in keeping with their real counterpart.

Every character in The Adventures of Puss in Boots except Puss and El Guante Blanco has the cartoony and stylized style whereas every character in every other work in the appears realistic/semi-realistic with a few artistic licenses. For example, Donkey has forward-facing humanlike eyes whereas real donkeys have eyes on the sides of their heads.
