Apostraphe by Dycie (critique requested)

Apostraphe (critique requested)

Well, I was supposed to be drawing a ringtail, But as I was falling asleep Friday night my mind popped this in my head and I had to draw her. And then I couldn't stop. I just kept drawing her and now I've ordered fur samples to make a fursuit. Oops, I might have gotten a bit carried away. Don't ask me what she is, I'm not entirely sure yet. At first I thought maybe she's supposed to be a Gryphon, but she just didn't look right with a beak. I've also considered Quetzalcoatl, but that would be extremely inaccurate considering she has legs. I've even thought perhaps there's some Kachina in there. But I just think basing a character on another cultures' religious spirits is disrespectful. I don't like anyone doing that with my beliefs, so it just wouldn't be right. She also has no NAME! Oh my gosh. For now I'm just calling her Apostraphe, until I find something better.

I think Apostrophe is a great name. I also think she looks like a dragon, for what its worth.

Thanks! I seem incapable of thinking of anything better, so it just might stick! Someone pointed out the misspelling, and when I tried to fix it, it didn't feel right. So Apostraphe is just the way it is, I'm thinking maybe calling her "Straphe" for short, but pronounced like strafe. Gah, my head, over complicating things.
A dragon, huh? Maybe... but how can I specify she's not scaly? She's completely covered in feathers, even her legs and toes (similar to a snowy owl). I know there are a lot of dragons with feathers, so I'm not saying she couldn't be a dragon. It's actually the closest fit so far, I think. Thank you for your input! :D

If they think dinos had feathers, why can't dragons have some too! I think Straphe is a good name!
