    a) Does this pic have a story?
    b) How dead was your hand after drawing those clouds?

      a) Yes
      b) Not at all. I did just a dozen 'scratch' models and turned them into a brush.

For some reason, it seems like the man in the space suit may be his farther or at least someone that knows the kid on the right, however the kid himself does not know them any more, maybe?

Good guess, but no dice. Sorry!

This is an interesting confrontation. There is a strong sense of a story that's as mysterious as the dense smog.

Awesome work in the characters and the texture work for the cloud. So you were able to make a brush with this stroke texture? That's cool.

Cool that you picked up on that! I'm still fleshing out the details, but it's coming together.

This is a great picture, and those hash marks are beautiful.

      Thank you. :)

Already a bit familiar with these dudes from your previous pics, but I just wanna know more. Captivating!

I wish I could, but I'm still fleshing out the main character's motivations!
      (the one on the left)

    Awesome work on this!

      Thank you!

Is it weird to say that I dig how the guy on the left just looks so... dead? Like burnt out, almost like he's an embodiment of ennui compared to Miguel? Does that sound weird?

    • Link

Not at all weird. He fell down a different path and none was there to catch him and aid him along. Miguel stands as a monument of all his failings and all the things he'd lost. Does that sound weird?

      • Link

Not at all. Actually I love it. It's heartbreaking to me too, because I know that there's so much that me personally, I wish I could have accomplished and achieved. And seeing someone that's the straight up embodiment of everything that you could have had, if you'd had someone there for you, someone to lift you up...

I would love to help give this story a shape if I could. There's a very real story to be told here, something that I believe can be pertinent and meaningful without being overly preachy or saccharine.

I'll consult you once I have everything drawn out!

            Excellent! :D

Guess the giant hero has the power to change his size at will? Something tells me that the bad-guy is going to get a black eye shortly. I know I wouldn't want to anger a super hero that can become a giant.

    • Link

He has this ability, but there are drawbacks. His energy consumption grows exponentially with size, and it's a very real threat that he pass out because of it.
And no, the fights already over. Neither won.

      • Link

Quick Miguel! Grow to giant size, stuff the bad guy down your shorts, and head on home! So much dust that nobody can see what's going on!

BTW being serious and not stupid for a moment, nice linework, and pretty genius stuff using your own brush texture, going to have to look into that myself for my own comics and B&W pieces.
