Said the Crow to His Lover!
Ca-Caw, Ca-Caw to you, my love!
It's a lovely morning, yes?
The sky's a dismal gray again,
with worry wafting in the wind
while passion fills my breast!
You're looking ominous today!
You preened your wings perhaps?
You're blushing, so it must be true;
and dearest, look, I've brought for you
these comely rodent scraps!
Enjoy them: tongue and eye and ear!
But might I have its heart?
On such a thing you needn't dine;
you need but only savor mine--
you've had it from the start!
My darling maid of misery!
Would you care to hear me sing?
I know a pretty raven verse:
"Oh Nevermore!" so goes the curse;
it has a lovely ring!
Ca-Caw, Ca-Caw to you, my dear!
What a pleasant morning, yes?
Let's flap our wings without a care,
let's soar through this foreboding air
and spread our sweet distress!
Crows can show affection too, you know. =D
