Revisted this piece from a few months back with a bit more lighting knowledge and a new approach to color management. I also made some adjustments to the pose.

For my new color management workflow: I have Mental Ray produce an .EXR file, which I down-convert to my final image formats in Photoshop. .EXR is a 32-bit format that can store HDR information, allowing me far more control over the final image. I convert it down to 16-bit after gamma/exposure-correction and then convert it to sRGB profile. Because the color information has a greater range to work with, the process is more accurate and clamps them much less. It also seems to result in fewer artifacts. The 16-bit file is saved as a .png and .psd, alongside the .EXR file. For Twitter and other places, I further convert the 16-bit png to an 8-bit .jpeg, rather than rely on their own conversion process.
