Bio: Charlie is an augmented creature and former experimental subject of Professor Samduc Nefkran. When his mother produced his egg, Nefkran collected the egg for experiments. Along with the egg of a kirin dragon, Nefkran used these eggs as part of an experiment to create draconians based on common dragons. He did this by injecting genetic samples from great dragons, humans, and yuantis. With Charlie, he was exposed to a serum containing great red dragon material and gave him the red dragon’s natural red fire breath weapon. The serum also allowing him to take on a humanoid form. Additionally, Nefkran exposed him and Thrandu to an age accelerating serum he developed which artificially aged them to 17 years, generally considered the final stage of common dragon maturation. Charlie and Thrandu, or as they were called by Nefkran Subjects 974 and 975, were used by Nefkran to collect other test subjects for his experiments. Through the use of enchanted collars to control them for his own purposes, he gained their obedience. Occasionally, he has used to them to test serums or treatments on them. Eventually, Charlie and Thrandu were prowling an area away from Castle Nefkran and met Cyril and Company. Charlie seemed to bond with Cyril in a strange way and after leaving the Castle, He became Cyril’s steed and familiar. Charlie is a rather sweet and playful creature though sometimes being a bit nervous around some, like a dog who’s suffered abuse. He will warm to people when they are kind to him but can become protective or fierce should someone threaten his friends. He shows a strong bond with Cyril, viewing him as a friend and partner. He also very affectionate towards Mikhaela. Later, Cyril learns some avatar magic that allows him and Charlie to join together into a dragon avatar, allowing him flight, enhanced strength, enhanced defense, and fire breath while also enhancing Cyril’s own spells.

In comparison to Charlie, Thrandu is a little more guarded and serious but shows a different demeanor to those he likes. He’s calmer and relaxed but becomes fierce when someone threatens him and others. He is generally calmer and more comfortable around Levine and Uahna. He has an interesting respect for Levine as both his master and a fellow warrior. He has a bit of a dislike of Prince Anthony, growling at him when he attempts to get on him or pet his fur. He will slightly abuse Prince Anthony a little by blowing his ice breath towards the pervy prince or kick him if he’s behind him.

I think most people know that I love dragons and I wanted to incorporate them in something wicked apart from beastst that Cyril and Co. fight. A little Behind the Scenes info, Charlie actually came from an old idea I had for a series called Dragoniers which followed the exploits of a trio and their dragons in a sort of steampunkish world. However, I decided instead to incorporate Charlie into this story and have him as Cyril's companion.Please Enjoy.
