A little look at examples of King Glodrick's forces, the Umbaren Imperial Army. These are of course dwarven soldiers clad in armor and from different troupes of the army itself. Each character in this pic represents one of the different branches of the army with their armor and clothing reflecting their particular standing. All of their armors are a mix of gold, iron, and durium, a rare and durable metal that is often referred to as Dwarven Steel.
Light Infantry- The light infantry soldiers are loaded out with simple armor(helmet, shoulder pads, gauntlets, and leg guards) with chainmail tunics, and leather tunic and pants underneath. They are the second quickest class of soldier and used in close combat or placed on the front lines.
Heavy Infantry- Heavy Armor soldiers wear the heaviest armor covering their body with a full suit along with sleeves of scale mail. They are often the strongest of soldiers carrying not only their heavy armor suit but also long range weapons like bastard swords, halberds, or war axes.
Mounted Infantry- The mounted infanty have a fairly light armor set having helmets, gauntlets, armored boots, and a chest plate worn over a leather and cloth uniform. They are obviously riders, favoring mounts such as war ponies, wolves, and especially siege drakes(as depicted in the pic). The mounted infantry is sometimes given darker armor so they are not easily identified and sent out to steal from nearby villages.
The Generals- The generals are dressed similarly to their troops but some are dressed in cloth uniforms and armor with a more elaborate helmet design signifying their rank. other high ranking officers of the imperial army are dressed similarly to the generals.
