Meta-Beasts
Background: The Meta-beasts were originally convicted criminals who were selected to take part in an experimental study by Burtom Tech and Pharmaceuticals for special weapons technology and super-powered soldiers. However due to a power surge in the block of labs that they were being experimented on in, accidents occurred causing them to change. With the security down in the labs, they escaped and joined forces, becoming a gang of super-powered thugs.

Real Name:John Nelson
Species: Hippo
Background: John was an ordinary thug who hired himself out for anyone who needed a little extra muscle for a job. He did well for a while until he was caught during one heist and ended up getting imprisoned along with his client. He later volunteered along with a few other inmates to participate in Burtom Tech’s experimental superpower study. John and a few other of the more muscular volunteers were selected for Project Jericho, a study in creating a large and powerful super solider and agent, capable of wearing a strong and nearly indestructible metallic armor. John underwent weeks of strength and muscle training and several small doses of a strength enhancing serum. In the final weeks, John was selected to be one of the few subjects for the final experiment. His next visit to the research lab, John was placed in the metallic Jericho suit. While placing the suit on his body, a power surge in the lab block caused malfunctions in the equipment and the armor was inadvertently grafted to John’s skin, making it impossible to remove without serious damage to his body. While escaping the lab, John ran into Peter and the others and he joined them as the indestructible muscle of the Meta-Beasts, Armorhide.
Fluid
Real Name:Georgia Hamilton
Species: Penguin
Background: Georgia was an amazing cat burglar and art thief. Her brilliant mind and amazing skills allowed her to allude the police for quite some time. After 5 years of escaping them them though, She was finally apprehended and imprisoned. Georgia later volunteered to be part of Burtom Tech’s experimental study. Georgia along with a few others were selected for Operation Aquarius. This experiment was designed to equipped the subject with tech that would allow them to use Hydrokinesis. Georgia did an amazing job with this experiment until a power surge during a test caused the technology of the experiment to backfire and alter her molecular structure. The surge caused her body to become similar to a non-newtonian fluid, allowing her to liquify, reassemble, and let objects pass through her body without any harm. While escaping from the lab, Georgia ran into Peter and the others and she joined them under the persona of Fluid.

Feral
Real Name: Thomas Pierpont
Species: Duck
Background: Thomas was a skilled burglar but ended up getting caught by the cops when he killed a security guard and a fellow burglar who was having second thoughts. Thomas later volunteered for Burtom Tech’s experimental study. He and few others were selected for Operation Omni-beast. The focus of this study was to make an agent stronger and better by genetic augmentation with DNA of wild animals. Thomas specifically was augmented with DNA from eagles, wolves, hawks, and panthers. The DNA altered him greatly making him stronger, more agile, and with better senses of sight, smell, and hearing. The DNA also had an adverse effect on his mind making somewhat more aggressive and one might even say feral. Because of this factor, he and some other subjects of this experiment were kept in a secure area at the laboratory so they wouldn’t harm any cellmates in prison. In the hopes of sedating this behavior, the scientists behind this experiment tried to counteract this with a special serum. However before they could administer it to Thomas, a power surge in the lab caused the restraints to fail, allowing Thomas to break free, maim several scientists and escape. While escaping he met Peter and the others, became part of the Meta-Beasts and received the nickname, Feral.

Kilo
Real Name: Peter Carroll
Species: Mouse
Background: Peter was a small-time criminal who sought great power and respect in the criminal underworld. He unfortunately did not receive either of these through most of his career. He later tried getting prestige by stealing a shipment of weapons at the nearby port but ended up getting caught in the midst of it. While in jail he volunteered for Burtom Tech’s experimental study. Peter was chosen to take part in Project Weight Gain, a project meant to experiment with a device that would increase or decrease a person’s mass without altering the wearer’s physique. Peter enjoyed taking part in the experiment and kept wanting to push the device to and past it’s limit. He eventually made it push past its limit causing the device to malfunction, inducing a power surge through the lab block and changing him. After the malfunction, Peter discovered he could change his mass at will without the machine, allowing him to become as heavy as lead or as light as a feather. This also allowed him to gain different abilities from these mass increases or decreases such as enhanced speed, super high jumps, and enhanced strength. While escaping he ran into the others and decided to form a gang with them known as the Meta-Beasts, with him as their leader, Kilo.

Another Group of Villains for Gosalyn to face. I originally conceived them as failed experiments by a government agency to make super soldiers and failing. However, thanks to watching a lot of AT4W reviews I came to realize how kind of dumb and repetitive that concept is. So I instead kind of drew inspiration from Infamous 2 and based some of the idea of the background for Vermakk 88. Enjoy.
