The divine hall in which I held audience with the members of my kingdom had long since been turned from the quiet, almost dark and shadowed place it had been for centuries into a place that offered light within the darkness. The windows were drawn more prominently with long, thick and velvetine curtains tied in draped cascades to either side of the intricately carved window frames... the panes of gleaming, clear, and stained glass allowed for a myriad of colors to drift in, a rainbow and glittering dance of fragmented shards illuminating the grand working of the throne room and drove one's attention to the long, plush purple carpet, lined in silver.

As one walked down the train of the embroidered path that lead to the throne, they would be met, not with a looming chair of ancient oak, but a collection of large, plush and soft down pillows, long sheets of thick and furred blankets draped like cloaks over the collection of downy items that I found myself reclined in.

Before me stood my eldest, ten years past my coronation, a decade spent rebuilding an empire nearly lain desolate by the second God War, reflected as hope within his ever changing eyes, he preoccupied himself with softly pulling apart the snarls and snags in the long and straight river that was my hair, humming contentedly and seeming to find ways of braiding small trinkets, white feathers and crystalline beads to employ his own manner of dedication to me. My joy and my pride, as well as my protective nature towards him, easily seen on the wary and ever watchful gaze I hold upon those whom sought my attentions.

Behind us both, my chosen, my king and consort, dressed in the finery of his station, though beneath the thick sleeved robes of comfort lay more versatile and snug fitting armaments to provide him with the capability of defending us, should the need be seen.

It was in this picturesque display that I found myself looking upon the one before me with an expectant gaze, as they lifted their features to gaze upon me, and my noble family, the sensation of life growing within my womb hidden behind the confines of my favored clothes, I sat up straighter, reaching to idly toy with my beloved son's top-knot, and regarded them with an air of serenity.

"Speak." my voice came soft, but regal in its emphasis. "...and know that in my presence... your words will be heard."
