(Story Art) Captivated Perfection

When I woke from slumber in the stranger's den of a place I had never been, the sunlight had kissed over my shoulders and brought with it warmth I had not felt since midsummer, the scattered call of tropical birds reminded me that where I was, did not sit the same as if I were home, the floodwaters of a tempest created by the God of the West Winds was a memory that still plagued and haunted my dreams, and yet for the first time in months I found I had slept fitfully the night through, my energy spent on other works and tasks that had worn me thin.

For a moment I thought to panic. How long had I been sleeping without knowledge? As I moved to rise, thinking the happiness I'd dreamt of were simply that, a dream, I found my hair caught by something and turned my gaze down to see the bronzed body that was beneath me, a coy smirk playing over his lips, he had his fingers entangled in the Raven-black silk of my mane and was using it to draw me back in retorting. 'Stay with me a while longer.'

Confused, I turned my eyes about this Tropical paradise in which we had been sent, ropes of Alpaca cotton and strange sets of wool died every color of the rainbow. It was different here than what I had known back 'home'... beside us both, there was a distinct sighed gurgle that drew my attention to the tiny, and content looking baby boy that slept peacefully in the comfort and protection of my love's thick, soft tails. My own draped over him like a blanket, I found peace in knowing he was there, and allowed myself to be drawn back down upon his chest.

He toyed with my hair, while I began drifting, my fingers reaching and lying upon the warm and soft skin of my kit sleeping beside us, I found peace in my lover's arms. For all that had happened to tear my heart into so many pieces, I found that the 'box' he had gathered and hid them in was shut impossibly tight and kept sheltered in the depths of his own. He laid claim to my shattered emotions and mended them, the fragmented pieces of my mind, he carefully fitted back together with the encouraging whisper of strength he offered me as a shoulder to lean on.

Like a giddy, and lovestruck girl, I found myself giggling, my face buried into his chest, his curious stare coming down upon me in wonder of what it was that had amused me enough to chuckle so randomly, to which I offered no reply. With his fingers lightly rolling thick strands of my dark hair through their grip, and slowly weaving them into entanglement within his digits, I found myself giving the same contented sigh my son did, while I rested upon his father's chest.

In an age where so much of the future was based on uncertainty... I found my place and my home with the love of an endless age, in his arms I found serenity, and with our son beside us... the only word I could think of to describe my feelings...

...was Perfection. Simple...Captivated...Perfection.
