»Note(s): Akihiko was named by his grandfather, Yasha, in an effort to help erase previous issues and sorrows. The name Akihiko means "Bright Boy", a name he earned as early as his infancy, always smiling, laughing, and being a rather hopeful prominence in a war-torn land. He is beloved by his family, but still looked upon with disdain by many of the Youkai whom are under the Enma family rule.

Akihiko was born during the warring-states era of the Makai's long history, he was the first Hanyou born to the Enma clan and as a result of this, was looked upon with disgust and or disdain by many of the pureblood Youkai whom frequented the Makai's domain.

Often a target of circumstance and manipulation, Aki has not had a life that was made all too easy, his mother, the new King, was often a target for hateful comments because of his birth, he has defended hir fiercely, but there is only so far one can get against people who see you as a blight on a once proud name.

Never one to allow things to drag his temperament down however, he has taken after his uncle, Itsuki, in showing optimism that the world will be a better place sometime in the future, and that people, being people, will always have reasons to fear or hate what they do not understand.

He is the child that Yashakoe, the previous king, always wanted, and as a result was often babysat, or raised by Yasha himself, in an effort to reclaim and instill the old ways and traditions, given that Aki often deviated towards his grandfather's way of being, over his mother's.

While this at times has proven to be a subject of argument between Yuuhi and Yasha (as Yuuhi wishes Akihiko to maintain some idea of the current world, and is vastly outnumbered (Yasha, Feng, Touya, Ashura, and Itsuki all being those who prefer the 'old traditions' to the new ones.), Aki often acts as a buffer between the arguing adults, and easily sways the debate in favor of agreement.

He spent much of his life being hidden and protected from Xiaoyin Feng, the Yomi King who sought to claim the Makai throne through force (either as taking Yuuhi as his own, or forcing the family to give it to him when attempting (repeatedly) to kidnap Akihiko.), he is crafty however, and resourceful, and fiercely devoted to his family and 'pack'. A trait that was taught and attributed to being mentored by Feng Zhou.

He has few friends, however rumor holds that he is knowledgeable and has a working relationship with Sun Wukong (a.k.a. The Monkey King), and various other members of myth and legend, his closest friend however, is a Nekomata named Jin, (who can be seen in this picture). Jin however, often gets Akihiko into trouble by stealing various pretty or 'shiny' items... including his mother's Hoshi-no-Tama. A fact that frustrates him to no end.

Nevertheless, he's a youth with what seems like a bright future, one half of his heritage standing in the past, while the other stands in the hope of the future. He's looked upon as the leader for a new dawn in the Makai, but still has a lot to learn.
