[COM] Star of the Country Down (story enclosed)

So this is, like, the fourth place this picture has been posted, lol. But it's due to some very special people: EvilDustKitty for drawing the picture (omg she draws the best deer heads I've ever seen), and GeckoGuy1234567890 for coloring it. Then I have a story to add to the picture as well.

There is a fictional nation that's a mix of Arabian high culture and Southern United States rural culture, with the major city in this nation being an Arabian-inspired imperial palace, often referred to as the High Kingdom, and the surrounding countryside being populated by farming commoners whose traditions, upbringing and family values are based on Southern life, typically referred to as the Country Down. For those who catch the title, yes this is based off of the Irish folk song of a similar name. The land is rich in soil and plentiful in water - on oasis in what was otherwise desert, but high taxes typically keep the social castes relatively static.

Dixie was a normal girl growing up in a particularly poor province of the Country Down. She was youthful, smart, talkative, funny, optimistic, and charming. Yet her most intriguing feature was a gift she was given by a special friend from another land. This friend had been visited by a rare and occult user of magic in her homeland, and upon noting Dixie's interest in the gift, offered to share it. And so the magic was spread, and the next day, Dixie woke to find herself with a very large, full-term pregnant belly. Remembering what her friend had told her the day before, she rejoiced as she contemplated the permanency of the magic. She would be in this state of maternity permanently, and would feel the effects of carrying three beautiful babies within her for the rest of her life... or at least until the effects of the magic were removed, in which case she would proceed to give birth. It felt wonderful - she had longed for children of her own ever since several failed attempts at conceiving with an ex-mate, and being so largely full of life was a dream come true for her.

However, sudden pregnancy had its social downsides. Constant questioning of paternity and planning was met with sheepish admitting to the spell, and word quickly spread about the region of a beautiful whitetail doe whose belly was filled with healthy fawns, yet did not give birth. Dixie's gift did not cause her harassment - in fact she received complements, favors and wooing words with great frequency - but the already well-known doe sometimes found it difficult to deal with her new-found popularity.

It was only a month before a prince of the royal family, a fine Arabian stallion of many wives and a closet maiesiophiliac, heard of this gem among the commoners at a social gathering he had put on for business partners and friends. They discussed her as a symbol of fertility, and as possibly marked by the gods, as nobody in the room had knowledge of the magic used to grant the doe this gift. A night of contemplation lead the prince to ride out, in person, to the village in which this jewel of a girl resided.

He met with Dixie's parents, who treated him fairly and hospitably, as was their nature. However, they also knew of the nature of this prince's kindness, and his charitable efforts to protect and make better the livelihoods of the lower class. He was a venerable man - worthy of love and respect by all. He asked for the doe's hand in marriage. She would be added to his harem and would serve him in this life and next... though she would be special. Upon his ascension to the throne, she would be named the queen of the High Kingdom, and rule beside him in fairness and justice. He agreed to, upon marrying her, have her educated, pampered, well-fed, and to have her every need provided for in the halls of his grand palace. He would also, as thanks to the family, give them rooms in its expansive left wing, in which they and their descendents would be allowed to live as members of the royal court.

And so, after coming to an agreement, Dixie's parents met with her to discuss the matter. She was reluctant at first to the arranged marriage, but understood her place - this practice was a common one and had been used for a millennium in their world. Before the marriage she was granted as much time as she needed with the prince to determine her affinity for him, primarily by the wishes of the prince himself. Their relationship quickly grew, as he proved well-traveled, intelligent, personable, funny, and a gentleman. She was infatuated with him quickly, and accepted her parents' arrangement with a clear conscience in one month's time.

Dixie and her prince were wed shortly thereafter: the wedding was extravagant, the honeymoon divine, and the settling into married life divine. Dixie was, as expected of all women in the prince's harem, fixed with a locked matching set of a collar and cuffs, all gold and embedded with the finest diamonds and sapphires from a far region known for its quality gemstones. Her outfit was to be, in all cases, a set of sky blue silks, soft, comfortable, and made from the finest materials. These pieces would enhance the natural curves of her body, and allow her large, pregnant belly to be clearly visible at all times. She was also, as a unique gift from the prince, given a matching gold circlet with a talisman representing a queen to be. No other girls in the harem received this... he wanted her to know she was special, and he wanted the others to respect this. The girls grew to love and understand one another, and with Dixie's amiable nature quickly realized, jealousy subsided as friendship and acceptance came to be.

Years of true love and reasonable service of the doe to her husband followed the union of the happy couple, before finally it came time for the two to ascend the throne of the High Kingdom. And so it came to be that the benevolent king and his beautiful wife would rule the country through many years of peace and prosperity. The new king reformed the oppressive tax system to allow commoners greater economic status while still maintaining the dignity of the crown, while his queen stood beside him, offering her wisdom and tender insights of the lower class - her large pregnant belly and her resulting maternal nature serving as symbols of nurturing and fertility all across the land. For the rest of her days and on into history, she would be forever known as the Star of the Country Down.

END

Hope you all enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. I also hope you love the picture.
