I decided to strip Melliferians of a lot of their reds and oranges because I decided to completely take away any ability for them to perceive red light of any kind. I decided that was just a lot more interesting.

With no reds, I decided to instead focus their coloration more on contrast than color.

I’m keeping the orange wings though. I figure it doesn’t matter if they can’t see the orange of their wings. We can’t see that we’re covered in ultraviolet-absorbing freckles from sun damage. So we’re even.

30 is modeling the new coloration for Amber Rust. Because I wanted to draw her in all her brutish glory.
