Original Species: Orcatra - Orb cats -Closed Species
This species has the look of a cat/otter, they are around the size of an average house cat and their traits can vary though their tongues and sizes will always be the same.
Lore:
Orcatra are created by large amounts of energy/magic gathering and concentrating into a single point. This creates their orbs. No human magician or other worldly magic manipulator has successfully created a true orcatra orb. They can usually be found in magic dense areas, one only has to look in the brush or around rocks to find the orbs. They are quite small but are akin to brilliant marbles that glow.
Once orbs are created it only takes intent for the magic to create the form that will protect the orb. In the wild it is as simple as a squirrel sniffing an orb for the orb to be impressed with intent. Within moments the magic will create the creature known as orcatra.
If a human type creature finds an orb they have but to touch the orb for it to be impressed with intent. However the orcatra that is created will be bonded to the human who imprinted the orb. Thus a familiar or companion will be created for them.
Wild orcatra can be tamed, usually through food, sometimes through shiney things. The bond is not as strong however and they will wander regardless.
Orcatra are carnivores primarily, they will hunt and scavenge on their own, but if food is provided they will consume that as well. They tend to be little theives. Especially once introduced to sugary foods. they do also eat Berries and other fruits.
Orcatra do not breed. They do not have a gender. They are created by magic and thus do not need to reproduce. They are feral only.
They are sensitive creatures and like most domesticated animals are empathic to the one they are bonded to.
They also sometimes develop hoarding tendencies. Especially the bonded ones.
