In The Air

Deriaz

stigmata wanted to do a trade. And he threw me a curveball, requesting me to return to a character he had previously done named Whitechip, a deaf lion that explores open-ended, expansive areas.

The challenge Mr. Mata was going for was mood and rhythm. While I don't think I hit that mark, I'm rather happy with where it fell anyway, and I'm happy to place it as a piece to close out 2013. He also seems to like it, so it can't be terrible! I also discovered 1) A way to use my webcam to take reference photos of myself, for hopefully more interesting posing and 2) the hinting of how I can take traditional medium and apply color to it. I'll have to experiment a bit more. So this image opened a few doors, I think.

STIGMATA'S HALF OF THE TRADE!

Critiques welcome, as always.

Wait a second... did you this too? I've had this in my image collection for awhile, I have no idea where I got it, but I recognized this pose/whatever instantly!

Or was this the original? Sorry, replied without entirely thinking.

Nono, you're not entirely wrong! The image you have is done by stigmata! He offered to do an art trade with me, and the image here on this page is what I did for him, as he requested I draw Whitechip. Unfortunately, your confusion is because I drew them in similar poses, a mistake that is entirely my fault, as stigmata's image came WAY before this one! Others have commented the same thing about it, so I've made a note for future trades and works to be more careful with posing to avoid confusion.

        Hopefully that clears things up?

It was more just excitement for potentially finding out where this piece came from, haha. It's one I've always kept in my favorite pictures folder and wondered about. Definitely clears it up, and now I know where to find this/how to credit the file, awesome. Thank you!
