On Season Cleo

Deriaz

Another grayscale commission, this one for kemowilddawg of FurryNetwork / Twitter of their beefy moth character, Cleo. Someone's been hitting the weights, and looks like he fits right in with the competition. If he doesn't place top three at least, I'll be surprised.

This one clicked really quickly for me, and I had a ton of fun with it. When I saw the Second Life screenshots of this character, I knew this one would come out well. I'm super glad I was up for this challenge.

Nice! Love the how you handled the shadow on the inner thigh and the brush strokes on the arm behind his head. What an interesting character!

You don't see many moths, or at least I don't. I had to go for it. And thank you! I've been trying to remember to use solid patches of color/grayscale in my paintings to help give the eye some place to rest a bit, since I know my brushwork can be a bit chaotic. Sometimes I forget to do it at all, though. Oops!

      Thanks, Hyst~

This is nice! The subtle Moth "fluff" is a good touch to such a muscular character! :)

Trying to depict fluff/fur while not ruining some of the physique underneath has been a struggle, I will admit, both on this and Lord Bafalaut. A tough too far, and the definition is gone. So to hear that means I must be doing something right! Thank you kindly~

        You are most welcome! :D

Yeah...probably an extra fluffy muscular moth would be reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllly weird-looking. XD
