Tetsuchi Konawa by Deriaz

Tetsuchi Konawa

Another sketch commission for Bloodhydra (of FA), this time of his character, Tetsu, looking pretty confident with himself. Best not anger him though -- by the looks of that weapon, you don't want to be on the wrong end of it. Thanks for trusting me with another of your characters, Bloodhydra!

After seeing a few pencil images around the net, I realized that I was being foolish with my linework -- white highlights! Duh! It's just like toned paper, but digital. Oh my gosh. How did I not realize it? I added a few here, and we'll only get better with it in the future.

Graphite (HB, 3B), minor Photoshop

Oooh! Nice! I really love the subtle white in there, too!

I think your sketches are my favorite pieces of your artwork, I enjoy seeing them the most! :)

Thanks, Keirajo! And yeah, once I realized that with the white, it seemed so obvious in hindsight. Gosh. It takes, like, 5 minutes tops, and it adds so much. I can't believe my brain never made that connection. AH!

I love getting a traditional commission. I don't mind all the digital, but sometimes a nice pencil and paper is just as relaxing~

        You're very welcome! :)

It's so subtle that it really adds a great visual touch to the whole thing! :D

I love traditional too...you know...sometimes I sketch in ballpoint pen (at my work desk! XD) and I love how those turn out many times, even over planned pencil-and-ink art! :D

Ahhh, jealous! I really need to pick up ink again. I used to try it, but oh man, my hand is not quite steady enough. Respect!

Just doodling with a writing pen is fun! XD

But yeah...hard to find time for the quality art lately--too busy! But soon! ;)
