I made the mistake, back in December, of opening a letter from Fedloan right before streaming.
I found that my student debt had almost doubled, going from 50k to 80k for some reason.
Bluh.

I try not to think about it most of the time, but sometimes I'm reminded of just how bad it is, and just how badly it could fuck me over, and it just crushes me.

True, it easily can, but so long as every waking moment isn't being devoted to worrying about it you'll be fine. Again, not helpful I know, but it gets me by knowing I'm making a dent no matter how that dent may seem at the time.

As ridiculous as it sounds, only give it a passing thought as you work against it. We're all gonna die with debt of some kind hanging over us. Better to live and work it away as best you can than let it rule your thoughts. Easy to say, I know, but it used to run me ragged before I even woke up for work most days thinking about all that I owed...assuming I could fall asleep to begin with.
