While the official new year starts in the middle of winter, spring is when everything that was sleeping comes back to life. In Western culture, that is usually associated with flowers, robins, bunnies, eggs, and all the other random accouterments that end up tied with Easter.
It may just be how enmeshed I've become in Eastern entertainment(and the aspects of their culture I've picked up via osmosis), but for me, if I were to choose one thing to represent spring, it would be cherry trees blooming under a morning sun.
And so, I found the prefect place to greet spring: in a grove of cherry trees, as the sun rises. With all the disasters 2020 has had, a reminder that life continues on is a very valuable thing. Life finds a way, and so will we.
