So after Roxie (narrowly) successfully "disconnects" herself from the entire Irken empire, she feels deeply anguished. This is because she knows they were expecting her to do this anyway. She had always been branded "inappropriate", a failure, a biological fallacy.

"Well, I'll live up to my legacy as a failure."

But even when you cut all strings, your past can come back to bite you in ways you never expected. Because in 2001, while well on her way to bringing the band she joined to the spotlight, another Irken makes landfall... I'll just let you figure out who that other Irken is :P
