The Facilitators: Mr. Accrue (art by Madfox)

Darkwitt

CODENAME: Mr. Accrue
CIVILIAN NAME: David Burlan
MARK: Burgundy Hexagon
PRESENTATION: Conference Telephone. He bounces his signal through cellphones  and other speakers so he can communicate  remotely, but avoids being seen.  In person he wears a hood and cloak.
AGE: 55
SPECIES: Grizzly Bear
BIRTHPLACE: Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, USA
SPECIALIZATION: Economics
OCCUPATION: CFO, Bruin Financial Group
HISTORY: Mr. Accrue grew up enduring the antics of his father’s Used Car business. While he was growing up, he watched his father use every dirty trick in the book to sell junk cars, and avoid responsibility. The practices he witnessed that a company’s business model was dependent on abusing the witless in his youth left a foul taste in his mouth. He quietly vowed to himself he would never be as opportunistic or as scummy as his father. After starting his own business selling trading  cards during Middle School, he developed a taste for the business world. He graduated with honors, earning a Doctorate in Economics and  served as a financial advisor for ten years before becoming CFO. He was acquired in the late 80s  by the Facilitators and has been developing  connections since. He aspires to remove emotion from the Stock Market, and seeks for businesses to thrive on merit, rather than cheating the system. Mr. Accrue is one of the most ruthless people I've encountered. He is uncompromising in his vision, and his code of honor is maintained in high regard. Frankly, the man worries me. He's more like his father than he cares to admit. He might not cheat or break the rules, but his capacity for causing suffering is quite similar. I've seen men and women who tried to play their games end up bankrupt by the year's end. He has no patience for people he finds to be reckless with money, and even less for people he considers incompetent, inexperienced, or too influenced by emotional connections.

Perhaps that's why Mr. Accrue detests me so.

Mr. Accrue doesn't like someone as young and naive as Darkwitt entering the Facilitators. Mr. Accrue's kept a close eye on him since recruitment. He's convinced Darkwitt is going to let his reckless faith in other people contaminate the original objective of the Facilitators. Perhaps he believes the Qualm is growing soft with old age.
