Dark Violet

A picture I quickly lined last week in the closing hour of the 24 Hour Art Stream. It was fun, but a combination of the aftereffects of that and the move back here to Stockport kinda killed my drive to art x3

But, now with twenty-seven new sketches scanned in and a makeshift desk set up, I hope to be bringing you much more artwork in the future :3

Enjoy!

WTF is this Pokemon? One of the Elite Four had one and it was a bitch. I'd never seen it ANYwhere in-game previously, ever, so it's not in my Dex and I've no clue what type it is or where the hell it comes from. I don't even think I can catch one, even though it's in my game. Not cool, Game Freak, not cool.

It's an Absol! Pure dark type, pretty rare and hard to catch. Try using fighting-type moves :3

Hmmm... since i posted that, i found its counterpart (or evolution?), Arcane, in my Dex. Since it seems so effective, I'm definitely going to catch one.

Heh, my capture strategy is backwards - use moves that aren't very effective to nibble the HP down and guarantee a standard ball will work. Skarmory is actually my main "hunting" pokemon - built like a battleship so the wild pokemon can flail away all day and she doesn't feel it, while I peck away with fury attack (I kept it BECAUSE it's weak!)

Use False Swipe. It's a move that will always leave the target Pokémon with at least one HP, regardless of the user. Great for trying to catch Pokémon :3

            not in gen 3.

            • Link

False Swipe has been a move since Gen II.

While it isn't a TM, Scyther, Marowak and Scizor are just three Pokémon that learn the move while levelling up.

The general pattern I'm seeing is between gen 3 (where I started) and gen 4 and 5, pokemon have chances to learn more moves from levelling than they did before.

The application of this knowledge is to compare movelists and stop growth in pokemon ruby 1 level short of a move i'd want to learn in pokemon white. Eventually, I'll earn the ability to transfer those pokemon forward and finish levelling them in white so they'll earn the move.

FYI - I've caught a highly intelligent absol in ruby and named him Omen, and plan on doing just this.

Of course, as new moves come in and others switch types, movesets are naturally filled out.

As far as I know, I think you should be able to use a move remember...er... person to get the move even if you're above the level in later gens, but don't quote me on that.

                  And hehe, sounds great ^^

yes, but, move tutors are hard to please.

in ruby the guy wanted heart scales, of which there were only 12 in the whole game.

i can only imagine what he wants in pearl and white

I don't know about Gen IV, but Black 2/White 2 has a luck thing where you can get them randomly. They're rare, but with enough money and trips, you'll have enough

Anyway, move tutors aren't move rememberers, as far as I know.
