The icy claws of the wind are now the gentle touch of the breeze
The lashing hail is now the kiss of sunshine
The bite of snow is the silk of grass
And the unyielding ice is pure meltwater
Delight! For the long winter is over
Spring has come again

A commission for the lovely and kind Litarath!

Their Leafeon, Vydania, is one very much in tune with the seasons - as the world around them changes, as do they; their leaves cycle green, pink and white; their fur fades between golds and tans and earthy browns... it's only their Gracidea that stays unyieldingly in bloom as the seasons pass by.

As the washed-out colours of Winter pass by, the rebirth of springs brings new life not just to the world, but to Vyrdania herself in her lovely 'Regeneration' form.

This was a beautiful picture to work on! I tried a lot of new things with the background, as well as a few old tried-and-tested methods, and I'm pretty happy with how it came out in the end. It certainly couldn't have hurt that I had such a lovely character, too! Vydania is a fun one to draw, and it was really pleasant getting to work on (and have so much reign over) the theme, posing and the like of the picture. Litarath, too, is swell to work with - always willing to speak their mind and help make the final picture a damn fine piece indeed :3
